Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka is a British-American sitarist and musician. She received the British House of Commons' Shield as the youngest, and the first female to receive it. Apart from receiving nine Grammy nominations She was also the first Indian-born musician to perform at the award ceremony. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young rising star on the Indian Sitar, is Anoushka. She is the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born in London in 1982. During the first few years of her life she was split between London New Delhi. At the age of 13 she performed her debut performance on stage in New Delhi. At the age of 13, she finished her high school education in Encinitas CA. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman however she's got an amazing career in recording and performing. She has performed with her father in the stage for a long time. In 1998, she debuted Anourag as her debut solo record. The following year, she released the Grammy nominated Live in Carnegie Hall. As she's appeared on many of the biggest stages around the world, her performance career has been expansive. Anoushka's career goes beyond the realm of music. Anoushka is continuing to advance on her path and will surely be more things to come from this amazing woman. Anoushka was a frequent traveler and spent lots of her time in London and Delhi in her early years. After that, she moved to California to finish high school. Anoushka Shankar started her musical studies at the age of nine. Four years later, she made her sitar debut in Delhi at her father's 75th birthday party. Anoushka was a part of her father during his world tour, gained an impressive number of experiences. When she was in her teens, she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD and even recorded with George Harrison. She was the youngest woman to be awarded the House of Commons Shield, awarded by British Parliament to recognize her musical talent and artistic ability in performing in the Asian Arts.
