Amanda Brugel

(February 27 2010 (February 27, 2010 Toronto ON) Pointe Claire is a secluded community in the part of Montreal called"the West Island. Many people who don't know they mistakenly believe the West Island extends westward from Montreal. Actually, the West Island includes everything westward from the city of Lachine. Amanda Brugel was born there however her stay there was short. Brugel grew up in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. The first goal was to become an actor, however she grew beyond her dancers. In an article published by Toronto Star, she revealed that, in her heels, she stood 6 foot 1 inch tall. Once I outgrew male partners I began to stop. Many former dancers turn into acting and Brugel was no exception. Drama teacher at her high school encouraged Bruce in the direction she wanted to go in. It was the teacher who recommended she go after a role in the school's annual production. Following a trial it, she was cast as the lead in Anne of Green Gables. A Fine Arts Talent Scholarship led her to York University, where she took classes in theatre and was awarded a Bachelor's of Fine Arts in the year 2000. In the last 20 years the career of Brugel has seen her perform in more than 60 TV and film productions. The most well-known role was as Rita (shown here) on The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel is the only Canadian for the season 1 Cast of the show and only seen occasionally was the only Canadian.
